5th Annual South Sac Festival

About South Sac Festival

Organized by the Office of Sacramento City Councilmember Mai Vang the South Sacramento Festival was created in 2021 with the idea to bring communities in South Sacramento together through dance, music, art, food, and more. This annual event celebrates the diversity in our vibrant community that makes South Sacramento great!

The Festival is an opportunity to connect with residents, community organizations, small businesses, and neighborhood associations and build a deeper connection with the groups that make our community a great place to live, work, and play.

The Fifth Annual South Sacramento Festival will be on August 23, 2025. Follow us @southsacfestival on socials for any updates!

  • Zumba with Gloria & Friends

Zumba with Gloria & Friends is a lively group of friends who first connected—mostly through the gym—and quickly discovered a shared love for dance, laughter, and community. Ranging in age from their 20s to their 60s, they come together 3–4 times a week to move, groove, and inspire one another. Beyond the dance floor, they share classes, attend events, and host monthly potlucks and parties that keep their bonds strong and their spirits high.

This year marks their very first appearance at the South Sacramento Multicultural Festival, and they are thrilled to bring their energy, joy, and passion for Zumba to the community stage.

  • Fortune School Drumline

While this is their first time performing at the South Sacramento Multicultural Festival, the Fortune School Marching Band is no stranger to the South Sac community and beyond. Now in its 7th year under the leadership of Director Stefon DuBose, the band features scholars in grades 6–12 and is celebrated for its dynamic HBCU-style marching.

From precision drills to high-energy performances, commanding vocals, and hard-hitting percussion, the Mighty Panthers have wowed audiences at countless events—including a 1st place win at the 2023 Elk Grove Veterans Day Parade, appearances in parades across Sacramento and Rancho Cordova, halftime shows for the Sacramento Kings, and even national exposure on ESPN+.

Please join us in welcoming the powerful roar of the Fortune School Marching Band!

  • Fast Times

From today’s high-energy dance hits to nostalgic Rock ’n’ Roll classics, Fast Times has been entertaining audiences of all ages since 1999 with music from the most iconic eras. A true force on stage, they’ve raised every dance floor to an entirely new level—making them the perfect South Sac Headliners for this year’s festival.

Performing power-packed songs from the discographies of Donna Summer, Whitney Houston, Prince, Guns N’ Roses, No Doubt, Bon Jovi, Journey, Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Billy Idol, Bruno Mars, The Temptations, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Lizzo, and Dua Lipa (just to name a few), they bring a non-stop, crowd-pleasing experience to every performance.

With 25+ years as professionals in the event and live music space, Fast Times has brought down the house everywhere from intimate weddings in Tahoe and Monterey to massive audiences at Levi’s Stadium, Avaya Stadium, Oracle Park, and The Venue at Thunder Valley. They’ve also shared the stage with legendary acts like Gladys Knight, Blue Öyster Cult, Sister Sledge, 98 Degrees, and more.
